Can I run SMSPassword on an existing server?
Yes, SMSPassword does not need a lot of resources, you can run SMSPassword on every server that meets the following requirements;
- it needs to be an ‘always on server’, with a static IP adress
- it needs to have .NET framework 4.0 or newer
- You need to keep in mind that port 1812 (radius) is not allready in use
- SMSPassword can run on a storefront/webinterface server.
What SMS dispatch options are there for SMSPassword?
SMSPassword allows you to pick how to dispatch your SMS messages. You can configure SMSPassword to use an existing/internal SMS server. Or you can choose a 3rd party SMS dispatcher like BulkSMS or MessageBird etc.
Is SMSPassword fully redundant?
Yes, you can setup as many nodes as you like. Extra nodes don’t costs extra money.
Can I run SMSPassword on a hypervisor?
Yes, we tested SMSPassword on Vmware, Hyper-V and XenServer. As long as you meet the requirements, you can run SMSPassword on a Hypervisor. In fact, SMSPassword was developed with virtual installation in mind. The biggest problem you face is: how to dispatch SMS message over ethernet. Our solution is the A100 SMS dispatcher.
